Euro 2012 - Your thoughts (Lescand)
With Euro 2012 just around the corner, and Vital England always keen to gain membership participation, it is question time with you, the Vital England members, asked to give the answers.
Next up is Lescand, so without further ado here are the answers given...
1) Are you looking forward to Euro 2012?
Yes, but not as much as normal, we're going into this under prepared.
2) Poland & Ukraine, good selections for the finals?
No, I dislike the joint holding of the Euro's (and world cups) it means that a team who could have qualified misses out.
3) Is Roy Hodgson the right man to lead us into battle this summer, and in the next few years - if not who did you want?
I didn't think so at first, but he's growing on me, I would have preferred some one younger and would have liked Glen Hoddle to be given another chance.
4) What about the final 23-man squad, happy?
Not happy about Carrick and Richards thinking they were automatic choices and spitting their dummies out, shame, they could have both figured heavily in the matches to be played.
5) Who do you see as being the 'key man' for England?
Downing, Hodgson sees something in him that I can't see, so it's up to the Liverpool winger to produce the goods rather than just be a passenger again. I also think that Terry HAS to have the tournament of his life or all that Ferdinand business will dominate all post tournament debriefs.
6) Which player - injured or just left out - would you most have liked taken, and why?
Richards for his versatility and attacking prowess from defence.
7) What about the player in the final 23 that you would have most liked left out, and why?
Wayne Rooney, someone needs to tell him his childish behavior has consequences. In his kicking out and subsequent red card in Montenegro he has let his Country down big style.
8) How far do you reckon England will progress this summer?
Heart says winners, head says quarter finals.
9) If it's not England who do you think will win Euro 2012?
Germany, they always come good at the finals.
