Aston Villa have rejected a £20 million bid from Man City for James 'Jack of all trades' Milner whilst he is training in Austria. United are also said to be offering England team mate Michael Carrick as a makeweight in a deal of their own. Milner meanwhile just wants to concentrate on and win the World Cup.

Given his versatility, as a striker at Leeds, a winger at Newcastle and now a merciless marauding midfield anchorman at Aston Villa; you have to wonder how Capello can possibly split a fiver when he has such an embarrassment of riches in the engine room.

Even if James does not get into the first 11 in the first game he will undoubtedly be a sub as he offers so many opportunities to change a game for the better. A quality, quality player who is set to shine in South Africa.
