Is This Good Or Bad For The National Side?
The current crop of top 10 Premier League leading goal scorers are divided into four English and six foreign players. That said, is this good or bad for the national side?
These figures are correct as of Friday 16 February 2018.
It is highly likely England boss Gareth Southgate will automatically pick Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling for the March friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy. Jamie Vardy on the other hand could be a 50/50 shout.
Everton striker Wayne Rooney is still banging in the goals but, he's not as prolific as he once was at Manchester United. Not rocket science I know!
Okay, he'll be 33 in October but that doesn't mean he's over the hill just yet.
So, if asked, do you think Wayne would come out of international retirement for this year's World Cup?
On the other hand should Gareth concentrate on England's youth?
On a personal note...
I would go for youth but no one should underestimate Rooney's fire power.
