England Drawn In Favourable Group

In todays World Cup draw England were drawn in group G along with Belgium, Panama and Tunisia.

England will kick off their World Cup campaign on Monday June 18th with a tie against Tunisia in Volgograd. They will next face World Cup new boys Panama on the on 24th June at Nizhny Novgorod.

Four days later they will have their toughest opponent in group when they take on top seeds Belgium Kaliningrad. England have a good record against their World Cup opponents in the groups stages, having played Belgium 21 times they have only been on the losing side once, drawn five times and been victorious the rest.

England have faced Tunisia twice at the World Cup stages, winning once and drawing the other, whilst this will be the first time England will face Panama in the World Cup.

Tunisia reached their first World Cup since 2006 by ending top of a qualifying group containing Congo DR, Libya and Guinea, winning four games and drawing the other two.

Panama are competing in the World Cup for the first time following their some what controversial 2-1 victory over Costa Rica ensuring the elimination of the United States and included an opening goal that did not appear to cross the line.

Belgium won nine out of the ten qualifying games and drew the other. They have plenty of household names including Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Napoli's Dries Mertens.
