England Under 17's Are World Champions
England's under 17's fought back to stun the Spanish and win the World Cup in India.
In a Sensational turn around England came from two goals down to win 5-2. It started badly for England going a goal behind after just nine minutes when Barcelona forward Sergio Gomez scored, it was the Barca forward who doubled the lead on 31 minutes.
It was the first time that England have ever got past the quarter finals at this level so it wasnt looking good for The Three Lions, but leading scorer Ryan Brewster got a goal back for England just before the break.
The second half way outstanding for England. Wolves midfielder Gibbs White levelled matters just before the hour, before England went in front for the first time in the game on 69 minutes through Phillip Foden who went on to pick up player of the tournament.
The Spanish threw players forward in hope of getting back on level terms, but with five minutes to go Chelsea defender Guehi finished from close range. Foden got his second and Englands fifth with two minutes remaining with a low drive.
It was revenge for England who had lost to Spain 4-1 on penalties in the Under-17 European Championship final this summer and caps a great year for the young Lions. England won the European Under-19 Championship with a 2-1 win over Portugal in Georgia in July, the Under-20s won the World Cup in June, Under-21s lost on penalties to Germany at the semi-final stage in the summer and as already stated the Under-17 side lost the European final to Spain on penalties in May
