Highlights: England Lionesses 2-0 Spain

Spain's Ladies completely dominated this UEFA Women's Euro 2017 Group D match, nevertheless Mark Sampson's side scored twice (Francesca Kirby) two minutes from the kick off and Jodie Taylor five minutes from the final whistle to ensure the Lionesses remain on top of the group.

1-0 England - Francesca Kirby gives the keeper the eyes and sticks it in the corner.

A cheeky dink over the keeper by Jodie Taylor made it 2-0.

Reaction from @Lionesses captain @stephhoughton2

Mark Sampson

'A big thank you to the players. I'm in awe of this group of players for their work ethic and desire to make the country proud. Sometimes the game doesn't go as you'd perfectly like it to go, but I'm damn happy tonight and so will the fans be.

'The spirit, resilience and will to win were all there tonight. It's a big three points. Spain gave us problems in the build-up phase but Karen [Bardsley] didn't have saves to make. If you look at the overall picture it's a massive result and if we do go far we'll look back on tonight as pivotal.'

England's victory leaves Mark Sampson's side top of Group D with six points from six and needing just a point from their final match against Portugal on Wednesday evening (27 July - kick off 7:45pm BST) to confirm a spot in the quarter finals.

Great to see England ladies doing so well against Spain who as we know have a knack of producing amazing football players, not only in the men's game, also in the women's.Their skill was evident for all to see however thankfully our ladies did just enough in this match to warrant success even if it was hard on the opposition.
