Behind The Lines: Paul Gascoigne

Behind The Lines: Paul Gascoigne

In his heyday former Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Glasgow Rangers midfielder Paul Gascoigne created some of football's most enduring images.

At any given time he could and would look majestic on any football pitch, and at the same time have the balance of a ballerina. And with a ball at his feet and within a blink of an eye he could conjure up a move or do something on the ball no other human being, at the time could do.

Whether it was on or off the pitch Paul certainly loved to dazzle, it was just a pity his demons engulfed his private life, and frustratingly for the fans ended his professional career with a sudden bang.

During a 10-year period (1988 - 1998) Paul managed to notch up 57 England international caps.

Behind The Lines: Paul Gascoigne

Broadcast for the very first time on 9 June 2017 and in this exclusive sit-down interview with Football Whispers TV, Gascoigne discusses that goal against Scotland at Wembley, playing for the Three Lions and dealing with the fame and adulation of being Gazza.

Gazza has not worked in football since being fired as the manager of Kettering Town in 2005 following accusations of him arriving at player training sessions whilst under the influence of alcohol.

Thanks for some great memories Gazza.
