Everton's Barkley In Spurs Link

Everton's Barkley In Spurs Link

I'm fan of Ross Barkley's as I believe he's - arguably - the most naturally gifted footballer England's produced since Paul Gascoigne. However, he seems to have lost his way at Everton this season.

Barkley's also lost his place in the England squad since Euro 2016 and has recently found himself out of the starting XI at Goodison Park under Ronald Koeman.

According to recent reports in the Evening Standard his situation and contract position at Everton has seen Tottenham 'enquire about his availability.'

Barkley - rated at £35m according to these reports - has 18 months left on his contract with it claimed he 'could attract offers' in January if a new deal isn't agreed.

England simply need Barkley to play regularly and show the form we know he's capable of producing - it doesn't really matter from that point of view where he does this. That being said maybe Mauricio Pochettino could be the man to get the best out of the 23-year-old at Tottenham if he were to leave Everton?

However, according to other reports in the Times if he did made the move to Spurs his teammate at England level - when Barkley is selected - Eric Dier might not be at White Hart Lane.

It's claimed Chelsea and Bayern Munich are 'monitoring his situation' at Spurs where the 22-year-old hasn't been the first choice pick on a regular basis this season under Pochettino as he had been last term.

Dier's become influential for England in the past 12 months so he falls into the category of being a player Gareth Southgate will merely want to play week-in-week-out wherever that might be.

Since these initial reports it has been claimed Barkley will be sold in order for Everton to sign a couple of players from Manchester United. Whereas Pochettino has played down talk Dier is unhappy and wants to leave Spurs.
