Womens U20 World Cup - England 1-2 Nigeria

The Womens U20 side are out of the World Cup having suffered a two one defeat to Nigeria in our third and final Group C game.

Having taken two points from the opening group games, one all draws with South Korea and Mexico, England needed to win in order to progress to the late eight stage and that was too much to ask last Thursday night.

England did take the lead in the game but Nigeria equalised before the half time break and then with a penalty award we could've restored our lead but unfortunate Beth Mead put it over the crossbar, and minutes later another penalty decision gave Nigeria the chance to take advantage and they did.
