England Drop Ten Places In Fifa Rankings

England Drop Ten Places In Fifa Rankings

Following our disappointing showing in this summer's World Cup Finals, England have dropped to 20th place in FIFA's ranking system.

Having reached third place in the table back in August 2012, this is now our lowest ranking since the summer of 1996, but we have four places left to drop before we equal that achievement.

This means that following our defeats to Uruguay and Italy, and then the draw against Costa Rica, the likes of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece and Costa Rica have now leapfrogged us in the rankings.

Whether people believe the tables are of any consequence or not - from 3rd to 20th in roughly two years based on two defeats and a draw mainly is open to interpretation - it certainly sums up the summer England fans have had.
