Forster: A Fantastic Experience

A goalies life is a difficult one, with only one able to be selected there will always be one or more that are left looking on twiddling their thumbs year after year.

Fraser Forster might have watched from the sidelines this summer for England in Brazil but the Celtic man enjoyed his involvement in the world cup and feels he will gain a lot from this experience.

Speaking to Celtic TV he said it was 'a fantastic experience' and, it goes without saying, he would have sooner we stayed in longer but he did feel that we 'played well in the games' all in all.

Personally he feels that he gained plenty from it and learned so much: 'on a personal level it was good to be involved. I think I learnt a lot. You spend a lot of time around people that you're not normally around.

'You watch and learn what other people do and try to take one or two per cent from other people and incorporate that into your game, or your training or gym work. There is plenty you can learn.'

How much of a chance he gets with England down the line remains to be seen, I am sure he will be there or thereabouts in the squad but you would think he is '3rd choice' at the moment, right?

I do think he is a cracking goalie though.

Forster is happy in Scotland, if it works for him and allows him to keep his England spot why break something that is not broken, but it would be interesting to see how he got on playing in the topflight in this country...
