Hodgson Open Minded On Team Selection

Hodgson Open Minded On Team Selection

The Portuguese training camp has seen Phil Jones back on the training pitch, to give Roy Hodgson another selection boost ahead of the world cup.

Who will be in his starting XI for the world cup opener against Italy though?

You would expect Hodgson to have 'ideas' about what his side would be against Italy but he had told sky sports that he has no 'firm ideas' just yet.

Even though the world cup does not seem that far away he believes that it still is and lots can happen between now and June 14th so that is also in his mind.

He does not need to select a side yet either does he: 'I have many ideas but no firm ideas.

'Not yet. I don't need to do that yet. We are a long way off. I don't know how the players are going to be performing in three or four weeks' time. I don't know how their fitness will be either.'

If all are fit and well Hodgson will know his side what would yours be against Italy?
