If You Can't Stand The Heat...

If You Can't Stand The Heat...

It goes without saying that the 'intense heat' of Brazil will be another battle that England have to face this summer, but Joe Hart says we cannot use that as 'an excuse' for a poor show.

Clearly the nations more familiar with such a climate will have an advantage but in a Q&A with fans on England's Facebook page Hart said he knew it would 'be hot out there' but we have to go to Brazil and 'deal with it' at it is 'only weather'.

Yep, it is only weather...

I know it will be tough, we all do, but with the right conditioning and the players used we can deal with it.

What becomes more and more important in that heat is that we 'use the ball' wisely and make sure we keep a good amount of 'ball retention' - we often give away the ball cheaply and end up chasing shadows.

That cannot happen this summer; it will be about 'conserving energy'.

Hart was a premier league winner with Man City again this season, he knows that plenty in the squad are 'winners' and as far as he is concerned this is a tournament that England can win the world cup.

If he did not think we could why bother going!
