Arsenal Pair Report For Training

Arsenal Pair Report For Training

Jack Wilshere getting on to help Arsenal win the FA cup on Saturday was obviously a boost to his club side but also an important boost for England ahead of the world cup.

Both he, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, being included in the 23-man squad but having not played much at all in recent weeks was a bit of a worry but Wilshere was able to play his part at the weekend as Arsenal ended a trophy drought.

A little more worrying was the fact that, despite thoughts to the contrary earlier in the week, Oxlade-Chamberlain would be fit for the cup finals he was not...

Arsene Wenger insists that both will be fine for the world cup though.

Technically Oxlade-Chamberlain could have been in the cup final squad and was 'desperate to play' but as Wenger wanted to go with those that were completely physically fit to play a part he decided not to put him on the bench.

Wenger says both will be fine for the world cup and both will link up with the England squad for the Portuguese training camp that starts today.
