Liverpool First England Takes Care Of Itself

Liverpool First England Takes Care Of Itself

Raheem Sterling is certainly playing his way back into contention for an England recall, and a possible place in the world cup squad this summer.

He is playing regularly, and playing well, and more importantly showing a good attitude and this is something that has previously been called into question.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told him not to get too carried away though and remain focused on what he is doing at club level as if he keeps doing this he has the ability to go as far as he wants.

In a nutshell Rodgers said he has to 'perform for Liverpool and the rest will take care of itself'...

Which, basically it will.

Sterling is one of those that I am sure will have a long, successful and effective England career but I also thought that he was more likely to be more heavily involved after the world cup?

I would concede though that if he keeps playing regularly for Liverpool, and keeps producing the goods, it could be hard for Roy Hodgson to overlook the 19-year-old for a place in his world cup squad...

I can see real competition for the wide positions and certainly Sterling is potentially as good as any of them
