Huddlestone Must Be Worth A Look?

There has been a decent amount of talk surrounding Tom Huddlestone and a potential England recall for most of this season, perhaps even some of the previous one.

In all honesty, as good a player as I recalled him being, I think (for whatever reason) I had started overlooking him but his performances for Hull this season have been tremendous and their 5m signing of him from Spurs in the summer is looking a snip!

I think my thoughts were always that he has struggled with injuries, but (and touch wood as not to jinx this) he seems to be doing well as far as these go since he signed for them.

Watching him pull the strings for Hull in their 6-0 demolition of Fulham, one of those that I think were in for him in the summer, was something else. He literally was the total package on that occasion and has in many games for them this season.

Huddlestone was tackling, and winning most things and doing plenty of tracking back. Both areas he has sometimes been criticised for not doing enough of.

His array of passing was top class, his confidence is clearly high as he was not afraid to have a dig (including one audatious freekick effort).

To cap a fine performance he finally ended that long two and a year goal drought and was able to get his haircut, but he has raised a good amount for charity in the meantime and hats off to him for that too.

If Roy Hodgson has not been watching him I would be surprised, I think he could be an ideal option for the sapping heat of South America as his ball retention, and use of it, is top class and would be so useful for us in the world cup.

Yep, without a doubt Huddlestone is good enough to go to the world cup and if he does not get further chances with England in the coming months I would be amazed, and basically disappointed as he could offer plenty for us...

TOM is a fantastic player and now he has the confidence of effectively having the team built around him and his being 100% fit and playing every game, he is at last fulfilling his early potential.

I have said for a few years that if he was Italian or spainish, he would be revered as a superstar and I for one would select him for the next England squad, as he potentially fills the problem area of having a sitting CM that can tackle, and has the vision to sprat the ball 50+ yards with either foot
