Lennon out Dawson a doubt

Following Spurs' game with Fulham today England have lost one of their players, and look certain to lose another?

Injury, with Andre Villas-Boas confirming today, has ruled out Aaron Lennon following him being forced to miss their defeat: 'Lennon won't be able to make it.

'He has been struggling a lot with injuries. We risked him the other day against Inter Milan and he is on the brink of rupturing his muscle so we have decided to take him out of this game. He has groin and hamstring (injuries).'

Having been recalled, with him in with a chance of playing his first game for England in 2-years, Michael Dawson looks certain to be ruled out too.

The defender did play but had to come off at half time with a hamstring problem, Villas-Boas added: 'he felt his muscle going in the first half.

'If we had brought him on in the second half we would be risking him a major injury.

'I think Michael will be assessed by the England team doctors, they will be in communication with our medical department to find out if he will make it or not. He probably won't, but it's something that they have to decide between them.'

Obviously this is disappointing, or could be, for both but Dawson will be most disappointed as he has come back from a point where Spurs made him available to transfer to come back into their 1st team being in the type of form to warrant an England recall, with him now seemingly going to miss his chance to impress...
