'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Century Up (One Day!)

At the moment Jack Wilshere is very much 'flavour of the month', and to be fair rightly so!

His Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has little doubt that Wilshere, despite still being in the early stages of his international career, will go onto win 100-caps for England as no one can challenge him - fitness permitting - in his role: 'when you look at Wilshere, who will deny that this guy will get 100 caps for England? Nobody, if he has no injury.

'My worry is not to compare Wilshere with anyone else. My only worry when you are a footballer player of that talent is to become as good as you can become.'

Wilshere seems to have been around for a while but is still only 21-years-old, and despite these fledgling years as a professional footballer you would be forgiven for thinking he was older, Wenger added: 'you tend to forget how old he is when you see him play. You never come out of a game and think 'this guy is 21 years old'. He's at a stage where the others have not started.

'You think of Jack (as) an established player in the Premier League and at international level, that is still something special.'

Given his ability, and talent, the midfielder - again this fitness permitting thing - will easily go on and win 100-caps, at least and could well become our most capped player of all time?

He really could go on to become not only one of our finest players, but also one of the games finest really I guess we have to be careful not to run before we can walk and expect too much of him!

you assume that he could be nailed on for a century. however, he may have to stay on his feet more as his game develops, as you still have that doubt that he can stay injury free with his current all action style

that is always going to be a worry with him isnt it, altho his game will adapt as he gets older - it isnt going to be all action all the time but i still feel as he does adapt it he will still be as good as he is now...those injury problems are going to be a concern tho arent they.

as a player I think he is potentially a world beater, however I do feel that M Wenger has to practice what he preaches to save this boys long term future. prior to his long term injury, wenger was moaning about him being tired and over played, yet he was the one picking him for club football when he ended up playing more games at 17 that any other arsenal player. he did exactly the same with Fabregas and so nearly wrecked his career with injuries
