England lose Sturridge

England lose Sturridge

He had been rated as 'doubtful' but it has now been confirmed that Daniel Sturridge has been forced out of the England friendly with Brazil.

Sturridge picked up an injury playing for Liverpool against one of his former sides Man City on Sunday, and after reporting for duty he missed training this morning and has been sent back to his club for further treatment.

The Liverpool mans withdrawal leaves The Three Lions with just Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck as striking options.

It was said that Roy Hodgson had no plans to bring in any cover, although surely at least one player, a striker at that, will be turned to now?
