Two out for England

Two out for England

Weekend premier league games were inevitably going to cost England a player of two for the 'glamour friendly' with Brazil this week... and so it has proven.

The FA confirmed injuries to a couple of players over the weekend.

Jermain Defoe, due to an ankle injury, and Michael Carrick, because of a hip injury, are both out.

There aren't any plans to call-up any replacements according to the FA at the moment, although should the doubtful Daniel Sturridge also be forced out then a rethink may well be on Roy Hodgson's mind as he would be left particularly short in the striking department.

with the potential for Hodgson to lose two of his picked five strikers, who would we opt for against Brazil. Carroll? Crouch? or what about Ricky Lambert or Adam Le fondre as two to have a closer look at?

should we worry that we dont really have that many options for central striking roles? I suppose it does represent an opportunity for Walcott to prove he can be a serious option in the centre.
