Warranting (a long overdue) call-up?
For a number of years, during his time with Bolton and Newcastle before joining West Ham, Kevin Nolan is a name that has countless times been linked with an England call-up.
For whatever reason this has never come...
England are pretty short of goalscoring midfielders, yep Frank Lampard does score but Nolan seems to have the all-round game that few other midfield options we have do.
What I have seen of West Ham and Nolan so far this season, granted not a lot, he seems to be continuing with what he often does - getting stuck in, creating chances and taking a fair few himself, including one that was wrongly disallowed at the weekend.
Nolan is no spring chicken but he is still at the right age to be given a chance, but will this ever come or will he just be limited to having played for England at U21 level?

Interesting that leon Osman was called up today which surely indicates that Hodgson isnt dismissing players based on age. As for Nolan, I have to ask if there is a better scoring midfielder available to Hodgson today? Gerrard probably doesnt have that ability anymore and I honestly dont see Cleverly as an ACM, yet at least. Maybe he sees wilshere in the role or Rooney playing deeper, which I actually like, but otherwise Nolan ranks alongside anyone else
