Pardew for England...In 8-years!

When the England job was last up for grabs Alan Pardew was a name thrown into the mix, but he distanced himself from this.

'Ambitions internationally' are something, as he told The Sunday Mirror, that he has 'at some point.'

For the long-term though he has a job to do at Newcastle: 'I do have ambitions internationally, I would like to do that at some point.

'Hopefully, I will see this contract out and then see what I'm going to do later on.

'I have always felt that a person can be a success as England manager. I won't change my opinion on that, but I don't think it's easy.'

Any possible England job will be at least 8-years down the line as he recently signed a new contract with Newcastle to tie him to the club until 2020!

Should Pardew remain in his job at Newcastle until 2020 then chances are he would have done a pretty decent job, so this 'probably' would put him in the frame and his 'ambition might reach that conclusion: to be England manager'...

I will be happy to forget about new England managers until we are past Brazil in 2014. between then and up to the Euros in France in just under four years, if is all about bullding a good structure and squad to compete then. Irrespective of how we do there, you assume that we will probably need a new man in four years and Pardew looks a great candidate at this time
