U21 pair left behind
England U21's have lost Jack Rodwell and Henri Lansbury for the Euro 2013 qualifier in Azerbaijan on Thursday, although they 'could' be fit for the game against Norway on Monday...
Stuart Pearce has decided it is not worth the risk of taking them to Baku so has left the Man City and Forest, respectively, midfielders behind in the hope that the lack of travel will help the midfielders be fit for the game at Chesterfield next week.
Cover could have been called in but Pearce, for the reasons mentioned, decided against this.
To be fair it makes sense really doesn't it, if they are not going to be fit for Norway on Monday it would be easier to bring in replacements when back home and, with all due respect to Azerbaijan, we 'should' have enough for them with or without these two...
