Terry to return

He might have missed the friendly win over Italy in Switzerland, as did many others, but John Terry will be selected by Roy Hodgson when our world cup qualifying campaign kicks-off in a couple of weeks time.

Terry was found not guilty in a magistrates court last month on racism charges but an 'independent disciplinary hearing' is still to be held, obviously if the Chelsea man is found guilty there his England career will be over...

As it stands though Hodgson has said, fitness permitting, he 'can select him at the moment, and will be selecting him.'

Some theories are that a decision has already been made 'in secret' with Terry cleared?

To be fair I thought that Terry had a decent Euros in the summer, a lack of pace was seriously exposed but then again his pace has not always been his greatest asset.

Even so I personally believed that Euro 2012 should have been the last we saw of Terry really and a move towards different, younger and fresher defensive talent should have been made - as Hodgson did for the Italy game.

By the time the world cup in Brazil comes around, assuming England qualify, even if Terry starts the qualifying campaign I am far from convinced he will be a part of the finals as a gradual fading out process could be the case with some of the senior players...
