MOTM against France

The votes had been cast; these numbers toted up with it decided among the Vital England fraternity that the man of the match against France was Scott Parker.

I am a self confessed fan of the Spurs man, it still angers me to think that we left him at home in 2010 instead of taking one of that seasons best footballers to South Africa!

It is made all the more annoying by how poor, and disinterested most were, to think that someone that had the passion and quality needed was overlooked - worse still a clearly unfit Gareth Barry was taken instead...

Hey ho he is making up for lost time and put in a great shift against the French throwing himself in front of everything that he could, so I think it is a fair shout that he was voted MOTM.

I must say that I was delighted to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain handed a start and the Arsenal man did not let us down, nor did Danny Welbeck for that matter with the Man United man full of running, effort and endeavour. Both deserved a mention here for me.

Wayne Rooney will return for the Ukraine game, based on the France game arguably the man to miss out would be Ashley Young...
