Called as it was!
The votes had been cast, these numbers toted up with it fairly unanimous among the Vital England fraternity that England would draw their opening Euro 2012 game with France...as we did!
Confidence was not high with only 10% actually thinking that England would win, a greater number - 15% - actually thought that France would win but it was the ¾ of the voters, 75%, that felt it would end in a draw that were right.
Was the game really that predicable?
Ahead of the game I suspect that most would have taken the draw, based on this vote without a doubt, so after it I would doubt many of us were unhappy with the 1-1 draw we got. I think we can take encouragement from this and can build, and grow, from this.
So, bring on The Swedes I say, who based on their opening game can be beaten to end (almost certainly) their tournament with a game to spare...
