England U21 manager Stuart Pearce said 'These players have done the nation proud in this tournament so far and I have no doubt that many of them could be playing World Cup football in 2018. It`s performances in tournaments like this that capture the imagination of youngsters at home who could also be starring for their country in nine years time. My passion for youth football is one of the reasons I am so pleased all of the squad have pledged their support to the England 2018 World Cup bid as a tournament in England could inspire a new generation of football fans and players.'

Adding, 'We want to get as many people joining these lads in their support of the bid at www.england2018bid.com to give us the best possible chance of winning it and seeing some of these under 21 players playing in a World Cup in England.'

Mark Noble said 'I`ve been lucky enough to experience some big tournaments now at Under 21 level and would love to be part of a World Cup in England if we were to win the right to host the tournament.' Adding, 'We hope people at home will join us by registering their support at www.england2018bid.com.'

I'd love to see it over here but are we ready for it? Remembering that you can't have more than two stadiums in the same city, which 10 would it be? Half the country can't get home from Wembley after night games by rail?

england still has a hell of alot to learn, public transport links are terrible compared to so many european, and world, neighbour - if we learned from them why not...thing is do we have the time to learn, 9-years seems along time but can soon go...
besides, if england gets the bid pompey finally gets this new stadium :-)

would love to see it return and think it could only be good for England as we'd have to improve the infrastructure and grounds.

it would be great if it was over hear , we have qaulity stadiums and we would outnumber fans wich would be better for our players and it would give little club fans a chance to watch england .. ENGLAND TO WIN THE WORLD CUP AT WEMBLEY IN 2018

I was there in 1966 and would love to be again 52 years later. Back the Bid? you bet.

Lets hope the time-frame we have to prepare is long enough for the FA to get everyone around tables and listen to constructive talks, proposals and initiatives on all levels. Whilst the idea is great for the game in this country our governing body needs to get its act together to ensure the bid is realistic and worthy of consideration, yet alone efficient in the final stages of the decision making process. Venues? Wembley Olympic Stadium O.T. C.o.M.S S.o.L Leicester Portsmouth St James Park (Calm down Exeter fans I refer to Newcastle Utd) Villa Park Emirates (London problem) New Spurs Stadium (London problem) M.K New Liverpool New Everton

the positive to bringing it to england is that we are already able to stage the competition with the stadiums in place, even the biggest clown could run a viable tournament and not only make good money, but be a great advert for our game.
